We are currently updating our site after four long years of technical issues with our telecommunications provider, so please bear with us, as many of our pages are still down, and links may not work all the time. We're making the best of this new opportunity to be back on line in making the site better than ever, and we'll be up and running before you know it. Here are some thoughts for the days 'twixt now and then:

PRIVATE STUDY WITH SINGERS OF NOTE:
In conjunction with the already ongoing CMI Arts Artist/Mentor Program, we are also offering private study for young singers with singers who have made international careers, one on one, either in mini course settings which might consist of one, two, or three young singers participating in an intensive on-site course, or on an hourly basis, as you wish. This is a fantastic opportunity to study with, work with, pick the brain of, and otherwise chew the fat with a singer who has made and is making a substantial career, and so glean not only technique and tricks of the trade from a vocal standpoint, but also learn about what the business is really like, what the life of a singer is really like, what life on the road is all about, all from the standpoint of someone who has done it, and also has the desire to share this precious knowledge with his or her younger colleagues. You can make it what you want it to be, as there is great flexibility in the program, as it is by creative folk for the benefit of other creative folk. We're also expanding to include within this private study offering mini-courses for one, two or three young singers at a time with Mentors Alice Baker, mezzo-soprano, and Janet Perry, soprano. SUMMER OPERA ACADEMY:
In addition, CMI Arts is proud to announce development of a new Summer Opera Academy with tentative startup in July 2009, to help young singers perfect their craft, perform, and have a great life experience in Italy. It will feature private study, coaching, diction and language work, stage work, performances and masterclasses. Rieti is the capital city of the province, located an hour or so north of Rome, and home of the Teatro Flavio Vespasiano, an historic monument noted for having some of the best acoustics in all of Italy. Built by architect Achille Sfondrini in the late 1880's, designer of the Opera in Rome (Teatro Costanzi/Teatro dell'Opera di Roma), this theatre is a slightly smaller version, ideal for young voices. Currently undergoing restoration, we are availing ourselves in the meantime of the many historic churches, cloisters and other suggestive sites of this great city. We will be adding pages so stay tuned....

LEARNING VACATIONS and SEMINARS at CMI Arts:
We are also in the process of developing a travel-learning branch to CMI Arts, a way for those of you who have always been interested in the arts, can fulfill your dreams of furthering your knowledge and abilities in various diciplines such as vocal study, piano study, opera and classical music appreciation courses, drawing and painting, sculpture, language study, creative writing, cooking, and other artistic pursuits as they become available to offer, and all in the beautiful atmosphere of the Italian countryside. We have a vast wealth of artistic talent to draw upon as Italy is the wonderland of art: study with professionals currently in career, or great artists who have now retired and would like to pass along their art, in either a small class setting or on a private basis: your choice, as arrangements are made directly between student(s) and master at the time of booking, and for periods of time also that are very flexible. We will be building pages once we are ready to launch, and hope you will join us in the experience and enrich your life while having a great vacation!
